About Department:
The department of History is as old as Lalgola college is started its journey in 2006 along with the college as a Constituent part of it.
The department has two sanctioned posts presently.Total numbers of teachers including S.A.C.T is five.As our college is situated in rural area, 90%of the students belong to rural poor, socially and culturally backward classes.
Intake capacity of our department under NEP 2020 in major is 400 . Maximum number of students our department is female,in view of that we emphasis on its with specialization of women studies in the course.
From 2006-2018 annual system was started and from 2018 July onwards academic semester system started in CBCS courses and from 2023 NEP 2020 has started.
The Department has its good records in respect of the result of the students, placement of the students and career building.Since it's very inception ,many students have studied History and they got job in the academic field and also in the private sector.
The department organizes seminars and viva voce for the students in connection with internal assessment. Test exams are also taken by the Department .The faculty members take the classes very sincerely with ICT tools where necessary. The Department organized educational tour every year to visit historical place. Over all we have a good and healthy environment for study, teachers and students have very good communication with them.
